Why Design ROI Is Calculable

Design's financial return is often dismissed as unmeasurable. In practice, it is measurable — it just requires connecting design quality to the commercial metrics it influences. Better landing page design improves conversion rates. Better ad creative reduces cost per acquisition. Better pitch decks shorten sales cycles. Each of these is a measurable, attributable improvement with a direct revenue value.

This calculator models three of the most common and most significant design impact mechanisms. Enter your current baseline numbers and a conservative improvement estimate to see the annual revenue impact.

How the Calculation Works

  1. Conversion revenue uplift: Applies the improvement % to your current conversion rate, calculates additional monthly leads, multiplies by lead-to-customer rate and average revenue per customer, then annualises.
  2. CAC reduction: Applies the improvement % to your paid media spend as a reduction in cost per acquisition — modelling the effect of higher-performing creative on platform auction efficiency.
  3. Subscription ROI multiple: Divides total annual gain by an assumed $10,000/month subscription cost ($120,000/year) to show the return multiple. Adjust for your actual subscription cost.

These are directional estimates based on conservative improvement assumptions. Actual results vary by business, market, and baseline creative quality. Use as a starting point for internal business case modelling, not as guaranteed outcomes.
