Map every touchpoint where your brand appears — digital, physical, and operational — before any rebrand, refresh, or consistency project.
Download Free Template ↓Most businesses underestimate how many places their brand appears. When you begin mapping touchpoints — from email signatures to app store listings to vehicle wraps to invoice templates — the list routinely reaches 40–80 items for a mid-market business. Every one of those touchpoints needs to be updated when you rebrand. Every one that is missed extends the period of brand inconsistency, which undermines the investment you made in the new identity.
A structured brand audit also surfaces inconsistency in your current brand — places where old logos, off-brand colours, or rogue typography have crept in. Identifying and correcting this before a rebrand prevents the new identity launching into an already inconsistent environment.
Block two hours with your marketing manager or brand manager and work through the template category by category. Screenshot each touchpoint as you go — the visual record is invaluable during the rollout phase. For each touchpoint, note the current brand status, the person responsible for updating it, and the deadline. Then use the template as a live tracker throughout the rebrand process, marking each touchpoint complete as it is updated.
